AhlulBayt News Agency: The Haramain High-Speed Railway has increased its available seats for this year’s Hajj by 25% compared to last year, improving transportation for pilgrims.
Saudi Railways SAR recently unveiled its operational plan for Hajj 2025, detailing expanded travel options to meet the increased demand during the pilgrimage season.
The Haramain High-Speed Railway, one of the fastest rail services in the world, will transport 2 million pilgrims. An additional 400,000 seats have been allocated to accommodate the surge in travelers.
According to the official schedule, the railway will operate 4,768 trips between Medina and Mecca until 20 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446, ensuring smooth and efficient transport services for worshippers.
The SAR program includes 35 trains, each running at speeds of up to 300 km/h with a seating capacity of 417 passengers. These high-speed trains aim to provide a modern, eco-friendly, and comfortable travel experience.
In addition to rail transport, Saudi Arabia has expanded air, sea, and road services to facilitate the arrival of pilgrims.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has secured 3 million flight seats, while Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has allocated 1 million seats across 2,000 flights.
The Al Mashair Metro will operate 2,000 trips, transporting more than 2 million passengers between key pilgrimage sites.
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has stationed 436 personnel at Jeddah Islamic Port to facilitate the arrival of 5,000 pilgrims, ensuring efficient entry procedures.
To further improve logistics, Saudi Post (SPL) has introduced refrigerated vehicles for transporting medical supplies, integrating health services into the broader Hajj planning framework.
